About the Workshop

We are very pleased to announce the joint briq / IZA Workshop on Recent Developments in the Economics of Socio-emotional Skills. The aim of the workshop is to bring together a number of junior and senior researchers to discuss their recent empirical research related to the economics of socio-emotional skills.

Topics of the workshop will include (but are not limited to):
  • Measurement of socio-emotional skills; field and lab experiments targeting socio-emotional skills
  • Development and formation of socio-emotional skills in children, youths and adults
  • The importance of socio-emotional skills in education and the labor market; RCTs and policy interventions
 

Submissions

Researchers interested in participating should submit a full paper or extended abstract by February 28, 2017 using our online application form.

Notification of acceptance will be provided by March 15, 2017.
 

Travel and Accommodation

Those authors who are invited are expected to participate in the 2-day workshop.
Economy class airfares and 3 nights of lodging for presenting authors and discussants will be covered according to the Behavior and Inequality Research Institute (briq) Reimbursement Guidelines.

Kindly note that tax regulations prohibit the Behavior and Inequality Research Institute (briq) from fully reimbursing the travel expenses of workshop participants who combine their trip with other destinations or extend their stay beyond the four-day window surrounding the event.
