About the Conference

The IZA will hold a World Labor Conference, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of IZA, in Berlin, Germany, on Thursday and Friday, June 28 and 29, 2018. There will be 8 sets of two-hour parallel sessions, with each of the 48 sessions containing four papers. In addition, there will be: One plenary session each day with a keynote address, one by Francine Blau (Cornell University and IZA) and one by Chris Pissarides (London School of Economics and IZA); and a ceremonial dinner on the evening of June 28, at which the biennial IZA Prize in Labor Economics will be presented.

We are soliciting Abstracts of Papers for the 192 slots in the parallel sessions. The IZA cannot pay hotel or transportation costs for this conference, but will be reserving a block of rooms at two pleasant conference hotels. The IZA will, however, provide lunch and dinner gratis on each of the two days and will organize a social event around the dinner on the second day. Of course, there is also no registration fee.

Judging of Abstracts will be organised by Daniel Hamermesh (Barnard College and IZA), Co-Organizer along with Hilmar Schneider (IZA), no later than November 15, 2017. Decisions about the papers will be made, and submitters notified, no later than February 1, 2018. These decisions will be made by the IZA Program Directors.
