too h Sabia Joseph J. Sabia is Associate Professor of Economics and Director of Graduate Studies in the Economics Department at San Diego State University.

His research interests are in the economics of health behaviors, the human capital effects of health policy, and the poverty effects of minimum wages. His research has appeared or is forthcoming in such journals as Review of Economics and Statistics, Industrial and Labor Relations Review, the Journal of Human Resources, the Journal of Population Economics, the Journal of Health Economics, American Economic Review (Papers & Proceedings), and the Journal of Policy Analysis & Management.

He received a PhD in Economics from Cornell University in 2004 and has held prior academic appointments at the University of Georgia, American University, and the United States Military Academy-West Point.

Joseph joined IZA as a Research Fellow in April 2015.
