25th IZA Summer School in Labor Economics
About the Summer School
The IZA Institute of Labor Economics is excited to welcome applications for its 25th IZA Summer School. The Summer School provides opportunities to learn from leading researchers about new advances in their respective fields, and is a great platform to discuss research and interact with faculty and fellow students. Lectures will be given by:

- Ernst Fehr (University of Zurich and IZA)
- Ulrike Malmendier (UC Berkeley, NBER and IZA)
- Andrew Oswald (University of Warwick and IZA)
- Amelie Schiprowski (University of Bonn and IZA)
- Florian Zimmermann (IZA and University of Bonn)
Submission
The IZA Summer School is open to PhD students working on labor economics and closely related topics. We particularly encourage applications from female students and students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The application deadline is March 31, 2024. To apply, please fill in the online application form and attach a full paper (working paper/complete draft) and your CV. Your completed application also needs to include a letter of recommendation from a senior advisor or faculty. Please arrange the recommendation letter to be sent to (summerschool@iza.org) by the application deadline.
Notification of acceptance will be provided by April 30, 2024.
Travel and Accommodation
The Summer School will take place from July 15 – 19, 2024 at IZA in Bonn. Invited students are expected to participate in the entire event. Economy class travel and 5 nights of lodging can be covered according to the IZA Reimbursement Guidelines.
Kindly note that tax regulations prohibit IZA from fully reimbursing the travel expenses of conference participants who combine their trip with other destinations or extend their stay beyond the 6-day window surrounding the event.
